Tiaa, wife of Sety II : ウィキペディア英語版 | Tiaa, wife of Seti II Tiaa or Tiya or Tiy was the third wife of Pharaoh Seti II, after Takhat II and Twosret. She is thought by some to have been Syrian (Hurru). She was once thought to be the mother of Rameses-Siptah (Siptah Merenptah), the next Pharaoh of Egypt after the death of his predecessor Seti II.〔Cyril Aldred, "The parentage of King Siptah," ''Journal of Egyptian Archaeology'' 49 (1963), pp.41-48〕 However, Siptah's mother is now known to be a Canaanite woman named Sutailja or Shoteraja from a newly discovered relief in the Louvre museum.〔Gae Callender, "The Cripple, the Queen & the Man from the North," ''KMT'' 17, No.1 (Spring 2006), p.52〕 ==References==
